Limelight Sports Temporary Staff Employment Terms & Conditions

Selection Process

Due to the high volume of applications that Limelight Projects Group receives for temporary staff, all applications will be screened against a job specification which can be viewed on the staffing website (www.limelightstaff.com). During this process Limelight Projects Group will maintain an impartial approach to ensure that no discrimination of applicants takes place. Any candidate who is successful in the initial screening process will be contacted via email and may be asked to take part in a telephone interview. Limelight Projects Group may hold candidates details on file for future events however it is not always possible to interview everyone. All staff must be over 18.

Temporary Employment

Limelight Projects Group may offer staff casual work from time to time but it has no obligation to offer any regular work. Limelight Projects Group reserves the right, at its discretion, to give or refuse to give work to any person at any time and is not obliged give any reason for its decision. Due to the nature of this contract temporary staff are not entitled to any sick pay.

Under the working time directive all staff are entitled to statutory holidays based on the number of hours worked. Limelight Projects Group has allowed for this in staff pay rates. If a breakdown of this information is required this can be requested.

Staff Requirements

All staff will be the public face of Limelight Projects Group and our clients during events and it is very important that they are of smart appearance and dressed in presentable and clean attire. As a condition of employment staff will be told what to wear or whether any uniform will be provided. Staff who are not dressed in appropriate attire will not be allowed to work and will not receive payment.

Limelight Projects Group promotes a no-smoking policy and as such staff are requested to refrain from smoking whilst acting as an ambassador for Limelight Projects Group. In addition to this, staff may not chew gum or consume alcohol during hours of employment. Mobile phone use should be restricted to event related matters only. Should these requests not be complied with employment may be terminated instantly in line with the company’s disciplinary procedure and staff will be required to leave the site.

Staff are not permitted to talk with any media concerning clients or Limelight Projects Group. The work of Limelight Projects Group consists of all aspects of event / project management and should be treated as confidential at all times. It is an express condition that no staff member may partake in any activity to aid the sharing/passing of documentation or intellectual property belonging to Limelight Projects Group.

All staff will be issued with an Event Manual, this information must be read and understood and any queries must be raised with their Supervisor/Team Leader or the staffing team.

It is the responsibility of staff to keep their online profile up to date and inform us of any changes that may affect their ability/eligibility to work.

Eligibility to Work

Limelight Projects Group is committed to ensuring that all its staff members are legally allowed to work for us in line with Sections 15 to 25 of the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Acts 2006 which came into force on 29 February 2008. As proof of eligibility to work legally in the UK, all staff must supply us with a copy of their passport. Other documentation may be acceptable. It is unlawful to employ a person in a UK based job who does not have permission to live and work in the UK. All staff should make themselves aware of how immigration laws apply to their situation before applying to work with Limelight Projects Group.

Staff must provide us with original documentation as proof that they are eligible to work for us and confirm that any information supplied is accurate.

Your Rights

Staff have no obligation to accept casual work offered but once a work assignment is confirmed they must attend and work the hours/days agreed. Failure to do so may result in Limelight Projects Group removing these staff from our database of staff without notice.

Payment

Rates of pay will be varied and are both event and role specific. All rates of pay are subject to the deduction of tax and National Insurance. All staff must complete a P46 and Limelight Starter Form at the beginning of each tax year. Payment cannot be made without receipt of these forms. Staff will be notified of payment dates for each event separately.

Data Protection & Privacy Policy

The information provided will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Limelight Projects Group needs to keep information about staff for purposes connected with employment. The sort of information held may include information for payroll purposes, references, contact names and addresses, health and safety records, disciplinary records, etc. The information held will be for management and administrative use and will only be disclosed to relevant third parties where there is a legal requirement to do so or upon staff request.

Insurance

All staff working on site will be covered by Limelight’s Public Liability Insurance.

Grounds for Dismissal

Any defamation of Limelight Projects Group or the event sponsors, or contravention of the specified guidelines outlined in this document may result in instant dismissal.

Gross misconduct may lead to staff dismissal without notice or payment. The following are examples of gross misconduct:

  • Theft
  • Any act or attempted act of violence or abusive behaviour towards people or property
  • An offence, which is detrimental to Limelight Projects Group or the event sponsor's reputation
  • Serious incapacity through alcohol, non-prescribed drugs or other substances
  • Harassment on the grounds of sex, race or disability
